 Ms. Dee Dee's Schoolhouse is

A State licensed home that offers care for children birth to 7yrs of age, year round in a home setting, our services offer a individualized academic program beginning at the age of 2yrs well into the preschool years, preparing each student for kindergarten.

MDSH's daily program includes circle time, weekly themes, such as learning about the weather,  fire safety, the five senses and calendar fun. Basic Spanish is our secondary language as well as introducing Swahili numbers and basic words during the month of February , in honor of Black History. When ready, children are exposed to the basics of reading, writing  & spelling by exploring colors, letters, numbers, shapes and computer fun. Homework and workbooks are provided to reinforced skills learned at MDSH. The children enjoy sensory play through exposure to water play, shaving cream & playdough, outdoor recess is  also a  part of the daily scheduling (weather permitting). Parents should inquire about the "Skills to Build" yearly themes, a monthly reference that communicates to parents skills that will be taught and reinforced for the children that are enrolled at MDSH.

Special visits from Stan the Fireman, Chamberlin Petting Zoo, James the science man, etc., make for exciting fun at MDSH.  Graduation luncheon, mother's day breakfast to go, and pajama day are one of many annual events held each year for the children and parents to enjoy. Events and special visitors are announced monthly from the 'Dates To Remember 'memo that are provided to all MDSH parents, as well as viewed on this site.

Early bird breakfast, a hot lunch and two snacks are provided and is sponsored through the Child and Adult Care food program which encourages healthy eating habits for early childhood development. As a plus Parents are offered flexible hours, extended care (if needed and upon availability of teachers) as well as assistance with potty training.

MDSH is a loving and caring environment that encourages children to grow through self help skills and social & emotional  awareness.  The children are exposed to learning how to care and respect one another in everyday situations through dramatic play, art, themes, and academics that are taught at MDSH. Parents are verbally informed daily of their children's progress, ( a documented progress report is provided at the end of the spring session for ages 2yrs and up).
